NEWS ITEM

Running into new friends

A mass breakout at St Barnabas School. No chance of anyone escaping, however, all the children had electronic tags to keep track of their times.

Another busy June weekend

Posted - June 19, 2017 Sunday June 18 started early with Run Jericho. Around 250 children lined up for the one-mile Fun Run at 9.00 am. They were followed at 9.45 am by around 400 adults for the 10-kilometre run, for which Alexander Betts had the fastest men's time and Jasmijn Arts the fastest women's time. A more relaxed occasion in the afternoon was a Great Get Together in Nelson Street, one of hundreds of thousands of events across the country in memory of Jo Cox.

Congestion at the canal crossing. Please hurry up with the new bridge Mr Sandelson!

John Mair, far left, organizer of the Nelson Street party. Tags were used here too, but of a lower-tech sticky-label type that helped people keep track of new friends.
