Busy year for Alive and Kicking

Posted - August 23, 2016

What a fantastically active year we have had in 2016. One of our members got to be 100 – Barbara Harvey celebrated in style with friends and colleagues, a card from the Queen and flowers from the Lord Mayor. She was also featured in the Oxford Mail in our campaign to save the 17 bus. Margaret Donaldson spoke to the Full Meeting of Oxfordshire County Councillors in a passionate attempt to save the 17 bus and became a full front page feature in the Oxford Mail.

During the year we’ve enjoyed birthday parties, outings to Thrupp, Milletts Farm, and other places, delicious affordable meals at the Oxford College training restaurant where we are treated like royalty plus some Tai Chi and gentle exercise classes, garden parties and lots more.

We welcome new members! Our programme starts up again on 5th September when we can discuss the autumn activities. Our delightful new tutor Kate Wilkinson is booked to start our autumn gentle exercises classes fortnightly from 12 September. We have been invited to Magdalen College School for their Tuesday community teas. We can have more craft sessions with Chris, possibly meet at Marston Court with Barbara for tea.
