This class is devoted to exploring breathing (pranayama) practice and meditation. Time spent dwelling on our breath is particularly conducive to creating a settled condition for meditation. Participation in this class is greatly enhanced by coming with regularity. All are welcome to this class whether we are new to this kind of work or experienced. The cost is £5 or according to your means. It comes after my yoga class. it is great to do both, but this hour is also self-standing. Once a month or so, this class will be devoted to community Kirtan, which is a lovely and joyous activity to participate in. See my website for details of this and the dates on which it happens. On those days there is no meditation class.
The origins of Nelson Street?
Nelson Street takes its name from a local pub, the Lord Nelson, subsequently renamed Carpenters’ Arms—which has since been converted to housing.
Where we work?
According to the 2001 Census, in Jericho 28% of those working were self-employed, while 18% worked part time. Around 20% were in higher professional occupations compared with 14% for Oxford. We also tend to work nearby: 72% of people worked within five kilometres of their home; 18% went to work on foot, 13% by car and 6% by bike
