MY JERICHO
This meeting was held on November 18, 2020
Mike Wooldridge OBE is a North
Oxford resident. He was one of the more distinguished BBC Foreign correspondents. in his career, he was a witness to history at the release of Nelson Mandela from Robben Island prison in 1990, his death in 2013 and civil wars in Sudan, Somalia, Angola and Mozambique. He reported the great Ethiopian Famine in 1984 plus the aftermath of the defeat of the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2000.
Over forty years, Wooldridge reported with some style from Africa,Asia and Europe. Latterly he became a BBC religious affairs correspondent specialising on the developing world .
He is still very active as a broadcaster contributing to the BBC World Service series Heart and Soul. Not bad for a young man whose career had started on the
Lowestoft Times. On Wednesday 18th November,he will discuss his life and work with some clips. It promises to be a fascinating hour. Register on eventbrite and watch on youtube
