Dave died from cancer aged 54 in November. He lived most of his life in Jericho, arriving at 70 Cranham Street from Wootton with his family at 15 years old. He was first apprenticed to Benfield and Loxley, working as a painter and decorator often around the colleges. Then the University asked if he would consider becoming a french polisher. He decided to retrain and worked as a skilled craftsman for 13 years until he had to retire. Dave was a keen allotment holder and a popular figure around Jericho.
