COMING EVENT

Open meeting with Worcester College

Mon 14 Sep - 7.30 pm-9.00 pm

St Barnabas School

A joint Open Meeting with the Worcester College and the Jericho Wharf Trust on the development of the Wharf site.

Everyone is invited. It is an opportunity to hear and discuss ambitions for the site and to ask questions before any plans are made. This is the start of a continuing conversation both about temporary uses and the longer term. An invitation from Lord Isaac, Provost of Worcester College, is given below.

At this early stage there are no architect’s proposals but the Local Plan policies for Jericho Wharf set the context:

  • residential development
  • a new community centre
  • a public square
  • a replacement operating boatyard
  • the potential to accommodate a new bridge crossing.

Our Jericho: a wider community consultation in the Autumn

After this meeting the Trust intends to launch a major wider public consultation in the Autumn involving residents, local organisations and the wider public.

The purpose of the consultation is to listen to ideas and views on the uses and priorities for the community spaces on the site-both for the new development and in the short term whilst plans are being prepared. We want the development to realise the opportunities and potential of this special site and the consultation will help shape the development proposals. The Trust is to ask for funding to support the consultation from the City Council’s budget for the new community centre.
