Edie, who lived in Great Clarendon Street, died at Christmas. She was well known by many people in Jericho from the days when she and her husband kept the Prince of Wales (now Jude the Obscure) in Walton Street. She regarded those years and the busy social life the pub brought her as the happiest in her life. Her husband died some years ago and Edie had lived modestly, enjoying the friendship of many local people.
