Margaret Scarsbrook

Margaret, who died in her 90's, and whose funeral was at St Barnabas on March 27, was 'real Jericho'. She was born here in Dawson Place and when her home was scheduled for demolition she moved to Victor Street. She spent her life caring for others; first her mother and sister, and then several other people in the Parish. She was also famous for her preserves and cakes which for many years were a highlight of the Church Fête and much sought after by local people. Margaret was an independent lady with a lively Christian faith, strong opinions and a realistic assessment of people and events. She will be sadly missed.
