Robert, who died on January 1, had run his worldwide antiquarian book business in King Street since 1990. He combined an encyclopaedic knowledge with a gentle and outgoing personality. Robert had long struggled with physical disability but gave little indication of this with his unfailing courtesy. Book lovers in countries all over the world will miss him.
