Bonfire night 1965

November 5, 1965. Local kids build a bonfire in the old recreation ground at the top of Jericho Street, now the school playground. the City Council regularly remove all the rubbish, but the kids just get some more to build it up again. Finally it produces a fine blaze, with some singed sausages, and fingers.

According the to 2011 Census, almost half of Jericho households – 46% – consisted of only one person, 24% consisted of couples with or without children, 7% were student households, and 11% were other multi-person households, while 6% were single-parent households.
