Better known as 'Eddie the Pole', he lived in Wellington Street for many years and was well known to local people as a courteous man with very regular habits. As a young man, Eddie had been made by the Nazis to work in Auschwitz for 5 years. He lost his family and came here after the war, working at OUP. He was a regular member of the Polish Club and endeared himself to many people in Jericho.
