Railings in Juxon Street

May 2000

Lucy’s is going to reinstall the iron railings in the front of the houses they own in Juxon Street. Like those in many other places, these railings were removed during the Second World War to melt down for armaments. The designs will be based on railings in Walton Well Road (which were not removed because they were needed to prevent people falling into basement entries). Lucy’s started buying up Juxon Street from St John’s College in the 1950s.
