JERICHO ECHO ARTICLE
May 2000
This year’s Jericho Street Fair promises to be bigger and better than ever. Stalls, live music, children’s entertainment, a barbecue, cakes, a prize draw, pony rides, and trips along the canal. The main fair will be held in Canal Street on Saturday June 10, from 10 a.m to 10 p.m. This year the Street Fair will be combined with a beer festival sponsored by the Old Bookbinders Arms in Canal Street. The festival will run from noon on Friday 9 until the evening of Sunday 11. On the Saturday evening, there will be live music in the street outside the pub and a pig roast, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join in. If you want to have a stall, this will cost only £12 for the day, or £10 for charities, or £6 if you share a stall. Just as important, we need plenty of volunteers. If you can spare a couple of hours on the day, or can help beforehand distributing leaflets or posters, or selling prize draw tickets, please contact Carolyn Dutton on 557902. We are always short of helpers, particularly on the day itself, so anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.
