Playgroup lottery win

New equipment

December 2001

The Jericho Playgroup received some good news this year – a grant from the National Lottery’s ‘Awards for All’ programme. This enabled the group to buy and renew some much-needed equipment. This included new mats and storage cupboards, a new playhouse and dress-up clothes for role-play, as well as a water tray to help develop sensory play. So now we have budding builders, doctors and water engineers all benefiting. The group has been running for 20 years with support from the Church and from parents, and this grant has given us a real boost. The aim is to offer affordable, high quality childcare for children from two years old in a safe stimulating environment – helping to prepare them for state education. The group runs five days a week 9.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. For more information, please call 552001.
