Beware bogus tradesmen

In November two men called on one of our pensioners in Jericho Street saying they needed to turn off her water. With all the Thames Water activity, that seemed very plausible. But while she was clearing out materials from under the sink one of them went into her bedroom and stole some money. Remember to check identity cards carefully. If in doubt, ask for a telephone number you can use to confirm before letting anyone in.
