End game for playground

Move planned

Posted - March 09, 2001
The long-running discussion about shifting the children’s playground to the corner of Hart Street and Great Clarendon Street continued on February 5 at a meeting to consult Hart Street residents on the planned layout. They said they wanted the equipment sited further away from the street and also would prefer the entrance to be in Great Clarendon Street rather than Hart Street. Fortunately, both streets should be safer in future since it is hoped that the ‘Better Ways to School’ programme will introduce a 20 mph speed limit around the school with traffic calming. If you have views on this you can contact one of the councillors listed on page 4.
