Bookbinders landlord leaves

Posted - October 06, 2002

On September 8, Ed Bradbury, landlord of the Bookbinders for the past three and a half years bid an emotional farewell to his regulars. “It is without doubt the most special pub I have ever experienced.” Morrells of Oxford have sold the Bookbinders to Greene King and Ed, who is currently Morrells manager of the year, is moving with Maeve and Jake to the Bygone Inn at Bladon. Ed transformed the Bookbinders, and also added music and a beer festival to our annual street fair. Welcome now to the new landlord, Alan Day. Morrells have also sold Jude the Obscure but have retained the Globe and a few others—possibly keeping those with redevelopment potential.
