What if….

What if…  people could get together to care for plants, and keep them watered for other people, animals, insects and birds to enjoy.

What if…  by gardening together for a couple of hours a week, then having tea and biscuits together afterwards to plan their work, people could make new friendships as they work together to beautify their communities.

There are corners in Jericho where this has been happening for the last three years or more. Mount Place, by the canal, has been transformed from an empty paved square littered with empty bottles and used needles, to a much loved public space lush with plants and wild flowers and delighted bees. Work in Victor Street, the Alley and the Health Centre bed is underway. There are still trees to be planted, and other neglected spaces are in our sights.

What if you joined in?  If people from other parts of Oxford would like to start their  own guerilla gardening group, and would like to meet with us for ideas on how to get started, come to Mount Place on a Thursday afternoon between 3 and 5pm and you will find people digging, weeding and watering.
