Better road layout for Sainsbury's
Posted - October 16, 2025A rather alarming misconception emerged from a meeting last week that, at the request of Sainsbury's, the zebra crossing next to the shop was to be removed. Not true, you will be pleased to know.
What is true is that the Belisha beacons that mark the crossing are to be moved closer to the road. This will make them more visible to cars and, even better from Sainsbury's point of view, out of the way of trundling delivery trolleys. There will also be some some footway and carriageway resurfacing and alterations to the road markings so that the delivery trucks can operate closer to the store..
Good news too that Sainsbury's will be paying the County Council for the work which is expected to begin on November 10.
