Lyn leaps to success in Germany

Lyn leaps to success in Germany
Lyn Ahmed

Jericho athlete represents Great Britain

Posted - October 03, 2002
Lyn Ahmed of Cardigan Street had a striking success representing Great Britain at the European Veterans Championship in Potsdam, Germany. Competing in the age 50 to 55 category, she won a bronze medal in the triple jump, leaping 8.55 metres, and another bronze as a member of the 100m relay team. And while she was there she also finished sixth in the 100m sprint, seventh in the long jump final, and eighth in the 80m hurdles. Lyn only took up athletics five years ago, after her daughter Samantha joined the Radley Athletic Club. Now she has set her sights on the European Championships in Spain in March and, if she can get sponsorship, the world championships in July in Puerto Rico.
