New vicar at St. Barnabas
Soon to arrive: Christopher, Father Jonathan, Ann and Edward Beswick

Father Jonathan Beswick

Posted - July 05, 2011
The new Vicar of St Barnabas is Father Jonathan Beswick who will be taking up his duties in January. Father Jonathan grew up in Somerset and on leaving school he joined a monastic community for five years. He also worked as a residential social worker with adults with learning disabilities. Jonathan then read Theology at Jesus College, Cambridge and trained at Westcott House for ordination. He served curacies in the Black Country and London, and also worked as a hospice chaplain. Since 2002, Father Jonathan has been Rector of the two villages of Catsfield and Crowhurst near Battle in East Sussex. His wife Ann grew up in North London and read music at Selwyn College, Cambridge. She now teaches music part-time at Great Ormond Street Hospital though in recent years have been largely occupied with their two sons, Christopher (7) and Edward (4) and all that goes with them! Father Jonathan says: “We are looking forward to moving to Jericho and to making a home at St Barnabas and getting to know the parish and people. It is an exciting adventure for us as a family and we look forward very much to meeting you in the near future.”
