Port Meadow anniversary

Port Meadow anniversary
Campaigners in front of the notorious Castle Mill housing block

Campaign photocall

Posted - October 12, 2014
The SavePortMeadow campaign on October 12 marked the first anniversary of the High Court case that forced Oxford University to carry out an environmental assessment of their Castle Mill graduate housing development next to the meadow. The campaginers say: "Impatience and anticipation are building in equal measure as we wait for the University to deliver their long-awaited Environment Statement for public consultation. All we’ve heard is “the next few weeks”, but it needs to be soon if the consultation period isn’t lost over the Christmas period." While horses galloped across the meadow, hundreds of supporters gathered for a photocall and made their feelings known.
