The Jericho Street Fair which was held on Saturday June 10 was the best ever.

Posted - July 04, 2000
The good weather attracted large crowds throughout the day to 36 stalls and the wide variety of entertainment. Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a success-to College Cruisers who lent a boat for the day, and Mike Stanley who drove it, to all the local shops and restaurants who donated prizes for the draw, to City Works for getting the kitchen ready on time, and to the musicians, especially Richard Dutton and the Force 10 Big Band. This year's festivities stretched well into the night, since Eddie at the Old Bookbinders Ale House also ran a beer festival with evening entertainment. Thanks also to the many volunteers who helped during the day and, as always, to community centre administrator, Carolyn Dutton, for organizing such an enjoyable day. Total profits for the Community Centre came to £800. The playgroup and lunch club made £120, while the youth group made £100 selling items that had kindly been donated by local people. In January the Street Fair Steering Committee will meet to start planning next year's event.
