Caring for St Sepulchre's

Posted - May 05, 2011
The City Council no longer has the resources to maintain St Sepulchre’s cemetery to a high standard. So an informal group of residents of Jericho and Walton Manor, led by Peter Strong and Genefer Clarke, has been meeting since March 2009 to cut saplings, brambles and ivy. During more than 30 sessions, around 40 people have joined in. The aim is to clear sightlines, create wildlife areas, and eventually, together with various interested groups, create a master plan to preserve a tranquil, green area that everyone can enjoy. If you would like to help, the next clean-ups will be from 6.00 p.m to 7.30 p.m on May 10 and 18, June 14 and July 12. Please bring your own secateurs or loppers and gloves. Information from Genefer Clarke on 516414.
