Watch out for hawks

Persecuting pigeons

Posted - September 11, 2008
Jericho's portly pigeons are getting out of hand. They are attracted by people feeding them - which also encourages them to breed. Some older residents find it difficult to use their garden or balcony because of pigeon droppings particularly in Whitworth Place. The Council housing manager has arranged for hawks to frighten away the pigeons. So you may see some unusual birds overhead.
